Tartan and leather

Shirt: Fashion Union, Skirt: River Island, Boots: Asos

Sorry for the poor quality photos, the lighting was awful so now it looks like I have a ghost face! I got the shirt and skirt for Christmas and couldn't resist wearing them already. I love tartan and leather so this shirt was made for me.

The skirt is one of those skirts you can’t help but spin around in, there's something so fun about a full skirt with movement. Have you noticed that I love midi skirts yet? I just find them such a flattering length.

Back to work tomorrow, I can’t believe Christmas is over already. I wish I could have just one more day at least of eating yummy food and watching Christmas movies. I should have got a job as a teacher so I could get more time off work for Christmas! Maybe I will have a change in careers?

Hands up who noticed the dogs bum in the background?

     Dress: Newlook

Just a short blog post to show you my outfit of the day and what I have been up to! I hope you have all been having a lovely Christmas. I have been well and truly spoilt this year, I might do a video and show you some of the things I received, if I ever get the confidence to do a Youtube video.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the evening!

Christmas lights

I'm sure a lot of you have seen these DIY nails around Pinterest and the web, I thought the idea of creating Christmas lights nail art was too cute not to do at this time of the year. If you want to create the look yourself here's how I did it.

1: Use two coats of white nail polish and wait patiently for it to dry.
2: Apply a clear top coat.
3: While the topcoat is still sticky apply the thread in your desired shape and pattern.
4. Once the topcoat has dried use your red or green nail polish/nail art pens to create your lights.
5: Wait to dry and then finish with one final layer of top coat and voila!

I think it would be amazing to use a glow in the dark nail polish over the lights so your lights actually light up! If i do this nail art again next year I will be grabbing myself a glow in the dark nail polish to complete the look.

Only 6 days to Christmas guys, are you excited? I know I certainly am! I've finally started wrapping my Christmas presents, every year I leave it until last minute and end up spending hours on Christmas Eve wrapping them. This year I actually want to enjoy my Christmas Eve so I'm attempting to complete them all as soon as possible. Today I have learnt 3 crucial things about Christmas wrapping. 1, sticky tape and hair do not mix, if you are clumsy like me tie your hair up to avoid getting in a sticky knot (not fun, trust me!) everyone will be receiving a little bit of my hair stuck to their present this year. 2, don't let your dog near the wrapping paper! I lost nearly a whole sheet due to Poppies curiosity and 3 listening to Christmas songs makes the whole experience a lot more fun!

Party hair

Wearing Halo hair extensions*

Today I thought I would show you an easy hairstyle that I think would be great for the Christmas party season. If like me you have to rush around getting ready after work then this is a great way of styling your hair in a short space of time.

This is my favourite way to wear my hair; it’s so easy and effortless while looking pretty and feminine at the same time. I use Babyliss ceramic rollers that you can find from here, I've had them for 2 years now and I can't recommend them enough. The great thing about wearing rollers is that once they are in your not restricted at all and can carry on getting ready. I usually do my make-up while I'm waiting, then by the time my make-up is done the rollers are ready to be taken out.

What’s your favourite way to wear your hair?

Christmas wishlist #1

Winter #1

2: Ombre hat from Topshop
3: Bralet from Topshop

Well tis the season for making wishlists, these are just a few of the things I have asked Santa for!  I thought I would share some of my favourate pieces with you at the moment to give you a little bit of inspiration when doing your Christmas shopping!

I know everyone has this t-shirt at the moment, there are so many different varieties and I love them all! I'm a big giant geek so its more then fitting. What's your favourate piece? Is there something specific your hoping to receive under the tree this year?

In all honesty I haven't really asked for anything this year, I like to be surprised when it comes to opening my presents plus my mum and boyfriend know me so well I don't need to hint at what I would like. I did however think it was about time I posted another wish list as it has been a long time!

Christmas party #6

Jumpsuit: River Island, Shirt: Boohoo

This outfit is very androgynous, but I actually really like that teamed with monochrome. I thought I would do a party outfit for those of you that don't like to get your pins out or want to stay warm in these colder months. If you decide to wear wide leg trousers I definitely recommend wearing platform heels to stop you looking short and washed out by the huge amount of fabric some wide leg trousers have. You want to wear your trousers and not let them wear you! Although those of you lucky enough not to be as short as me probably don't need to worry about that.

I love teaming a monochrome or androgynous outfit with a bold lipstick to add a bit of colour and a feminine touch to the look!

One thing I have learnt from doing these party outfits is the amount of dresses I own, I definitely recommend doing a series of different looks you can create using your existing clothes if you don't want to buy a new outfit. You will probably find you already have the perfect party outfit hiding in your wardrobe somewhere. It’s also a great way to try something new. If anyone does this let me know what you come up with!
